Taekwondo: More than Kicking & Hitting

At Mireu Martial Arts we believe that Taekwondo is about being a good person in and out of the dojang.

Last Saturday, we held a Fundraising Charity Event at the dojang and had an amazing turnout! We had a bouncy house, STEM event sessions with circuits and robots, make your own hat booth, a 50/50 raffle, food from Island Vybz, cupcakes, face painting, hula hoops, music by a DJ, a basket raffle and more!

From Grandmaster Matthews:

I can't say thank you enough for all you did for this event.  Making a difference in people's lives is so rewarding, and beyond that, it's just the right thing to do.  Let's keep leading by example for the generations to come.  Taekwondo, martial arts, is more than just kicking and hitting.  You guys really kicked it out of the park.  Great job.

Creating a better community requires consistent and deliberate action from each member of the community. A journey towards improvement needs active participation and commitment to foster positive change, which is why volunteering our time between each promotion testing is a requirement. We all need to support local initiatives to help build a stronger foundation for future generations.

Let’s continue to work together to cultivate an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered!!!

Many thanks to the local businesses that donated to the basket raffles (Slime Factory, Children's Museum, Wig & Pen, Brush & Barrel, Spa Bilancia, Pat & Frans).

And thank you to Island Vybz for donating the delicious chicken and rice/beans!
