YELLOW BELT HOME RULES

Children will respect parents and family members at all times.

Children will greet their parents when they enter the house and say goodbye when they leave.

YELLOW BELT DOJANG RULES

Bow to the flags upon entering and exiting the dojang.

The 5 Tenets of Taekwondo
The actions and behavior of the Taekwondo practitioner are expected to be in accordance with the tenets and with all their implications. Taekwondo regards the tenets as values all taekwondo students should hold.
The 5 Tenets explain and summarize the entire teaching of Taekwondo.
1. COURTESY [YE UI]
Pronounced ye-wee. Kindness, humility, politeness, and respect
2. INTEGRITY [YOM CHI]
Pronounced yom-chee. Morality and honesty with self and others at all times
3. PERSEVERANCE [IN NAE]
Pronounced een-nay. Persistence regardless of obstacles, difficulties, or occasional let downs
4. SELF-CONTROL [KUK GI]
Pronounced gook-gee. Ability to control strong emotions such as love, hate, anger, joy, sadness, etc.
It is also the ability to physically control body motions and preventing unnecessary injuries to others.
5. INDOMITABLE SPIRIT [BAEKJEOL BULGUL]
Pronounced beckjool boolgool. Unbreakable will and beliefs. Strong. Brave.
KUKKIWON YELLOW / YELLOW HIGH BELT FORM:
TAEGEUK IL JANG
Tae Geuk Il Jang represents Geun of Eight Symbols (Pal Gwe). It means Sky and Yang (positive energy). As Geun expresses the beginning of all vital nature, it is the first Poomsae in Taekwondo. Most of the movements consist of easy walking stances. It also combines the basic techniques of low block, middle block, middle punch, and front kick.

WALKING STANCE
Walking Stance is utilized in the Tae Geuk Il Jang Form.
OUTSIDE TO INSIDE BLOCK
Out to In Block will be used in conjunction with Walking Stance during Tae Geuk Il Jang Form.
Out to In Block will be used in Step Sparring techniques 1 and 2.
[Note: Outside to Inside Block may also be called Out to In Block, Outer Forearm Block, or Middle Block.]
FRONT KICK
Front Kick is utilized during Tae Geuk Il Jang Form.
